WWMDP offers instrumental tuition every Saturday, at a local Dunlavin venue. Available for anyone living in Dunlavin or its surrounds, these classes cater for both complete beginners and those with some music experience. The ideal age group is 5 - 16 years. Each class lasts 30 minutes, and lessons take place in small groups.
This is a fun, friendly and very affordable way for young people to learn an instrument!
An instrument bank is available (through Dunlavin Youth Orchestra) where students can hire a good quality beginner instrument for a minimal amount, for the duration of their participation in the programme. This is an ideal way for students to "try out" an instrument before deciding what to buy.
WWMDP will be making visits to schools in West Wicklow, to deliver workshops and short performances on a range of instruments. We hope these visits encourage young
people to consider trying out an instrument and learning new skills.
Check
with your local school to see if they are in our next cycle of visits,
planned for September 09. Or contact us if you'd like us to visit your
school and we'll make the arrangements.
